Kamaka Soprano

Lynn bought this flamey little beauty for me in the early 80s on one of her work trips to O`ahu. A local friend took her to the Kamaka factory for their weekly sale and helped her pick out a gorgeous soprano. It's taken me years to get around to playing it, but it is a terrific sounding ukulele.

This is just about the definitive ukulele. The Kamaka family has been making koa ukuleles since the turn of the century.

This shot gives a better look at the spectacular curly wood they used on this basic instrument.

The whole instrument is plain and simple, but the gorgeous wood doesn't need any decoration. The tone and playability of this little cutie are first class.
